Leadenham Village Hall was transported to the smoky streets of 1930s New York on the 19th of July as Hambledon Productions brought their brilliantly absurd detective spoof “Stop! You’re Killing Me” to the stage.

From the same team that delivered Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show, this fast-paced comedy caper had the audience in stitches from start to finish. Packed with puns, slapstick, red herrings and even the occasional talking horse, the show followed bumbling Private Detective Sam Sloan as he took on his most baffling case yet, the disappearance of shady horse-bookie Max Summers.

Wonderfully performed and brilliantly silly, this was another superb evening of live theatre in the heart of the village and one that left everyone thoroughly entertained.
